Cleanings

Our team at Children’s Dentistry in Park Ridge understands the importance of keeping baby and young adult teeth healthy and clean. Dental cleanings by our team of professionals can get to those hard to reach places to help prevent cavities and the growth of unwanted bacteria in the mouth.

Cavity Fillings

No one likes cavities, but nearly 42% of children ages 2 to 11 will get at least one! This happens when bacteria grows and creates an environment for cavities to form. Cavities in children can occur for a number of reasons from consuming too much sugar to a lack of brushing well. Not only can we safely and comfortably fill any cavities your child may have, but we will help you and your child find preventative methods to help eliminate more cavities in the future.

Extractions

Extractions are the removal of a baby tooth because of disease, serious damage, or sometimes crowding. For many children, extractions can be scary. At Children’s Dentistry in Park Ridge, our team will perform a tooth extraction procedure for your child with the utmost care. If we feel the need for your child to have a tooth extracted, we will discuss all options with you and your child from sedation methods to ways of numbing the area surrounding the tooth. We want this experience to be as painless and positive as possible.

Special Needs Dentistry

Finding a skilled, special needs dentist for a child can be a challenge. With years of experience and a special needs child at home, Dr. Richardson not only has the skills, but the passion to work with you and your child. Our team is equipped with training beyond dental school that allows them to interact specifically with children with special needs. Using gentle techniques, creating a trustworthy environment, and communicating clearly, we are confident that your child will love coming to see us. No matter their specific needs, we promise to be attentive, patient, and caring with every child.

Hospital Dentistry

In the hospital, we work with pediatric anesthesiologists to provide comprehensive care for patients who are unable to tolerate dental work in the traditional setting. Often, patients are under the age of 5 or have special needs.  Dr. Richardson is on staff at the Ann and Robert H Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and credentialed at both the main (downtown) location and the Northbrook surgical center. She is also on staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. Dr. Davenport is also credentialed at the main location and the Westchester surgical center.
